Advanced Manufacturing
Protodynamix offers additive manufacturing on an industrial scale. The tool-free production of components using the selective laser sintering process (SLS) is fast, flexible and not expensive.
The technology enables the change from production-oriented to functional design, and this from a quantity of 1 to several thousand pieces.
With laser sintering, components are manufactured with the help of focused CO2 laser light.
The raw material is a powder which is heated to approx. 170 ° C in the build envelope of the SLS systems
The laser beam applies the missing energy to melt the powder particles.
This process is repeated in 0.1mm layers, in this way the powder particles are melted to one another and three dimensional structures are created.
A major advantage of the SLS process is that no support structures are required.
